The Texas Coalition for Affordable Insurance Solutions (TCAIS) – representing the major auto insurance companies doing business in Texas – thanked the Senate State Affairs Committee for voting Tuesday to pass House Bill 62, a statewide prohibition on texting while driving.
The following statement can be attributed to TCAIS Executive Director Beaman Floyd:
“With a growing number of accidents on Texas roadways blamed on the practice of texting while driving, it’s time to pass a statewide ban as well as change the culture that considers it acceptable behavior. Passage of House Bill 62 today by the Senate State Affairs Committee is another step toward preventing injuries and saving lives in our state.”
