In Texas, insurance companies are meeting their obligations from Ike, while state law protects consumers from the possibility of bad practices. Since Ike hit, insurance company personnel from Texas and across the country — the biggest deployment of insurance company resources in our state's history — have been working around the clock to assess damage and assist home-owners with the claims filing process. Millions of dollars in claims already have been paid....Once again, Texas has shown it can take care of Texans, with or without federal regulation.
